About the Venue
This 15th-century inn provides an atmospheric setting for plays bursting with comedy, chaos and secret identities as well as gritty historical tragedies alike. Built approximately 1474, this historic building is a timber-framed Wealden Hall House that has served as a tavern for over 500 years.

Performances at The Wooly offer a fresh theatrical experience in a truly one-of-a-kind space, right in the heart of Tenterden. The company’s first return to the town since the pandemic, Twelfth Night was performed in June 2025 to a sold out auditorium. Hosting multiple sell out shows in its first year, Bowler Crab returned to Tenterden with several shows in 2026. On Sunday 8th November 2026, Bowler Crab perform at the Woolpack Inn with Henry V.
