Half House Farm

Bowler Crab's outdoor venue is located amid sixteen acres of lakes, woodland and open grassland in Three Oaks, a small village in the heart of East Sussex.

A fine example of a Sixteenth Century venacular Yeoman Farmhouse, the house was built in 1575, eleven years after Shakespeare's birth (1564). To this day, the grade two listed Half House still bears its original name.

Journey through one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies as mistaken identity, song, drunken behaviour, unrequited love and a pair of yellow stockings transport you to a world of wonder.

Bowler Crab invite you to wear yellow as they revisit an old favourite; their 34th production sets sail in June 2025.

Shakespeare’s gritty tragedy portrays the assassination of one of the most influential individuals in history.

Caesar’s closest friends prove enemies when a prolific murder is plotted to emancipate Rome from his divine dictatorship.

Blood is spilt in the name of gold, freedom and progress but can the libaratores survive the aftermath of their deed when faced with civil war?

Bowler Crab’s 35th production bloodies its swords in September 2025.

Concentrating on Shakespeare's relationship with the festive season, this show will get everyone into the spirit of Christmas with bawdy humour, disguises, song, cakes, ale and a ghost or two!

Exploring the Elizabethan & Jacobean winter traditions with performances of iconic scenes, Bowler Crab’s 36th production lights up in December 2025.
