About Bowler Crab

Founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Stephen John, Bowler Crab started out as an outdoor theatre company that performed the works of William Shakespeare exclusively at Half House Farm in Three Oaks. Since then, thanks to our ever growing success, we've developed into a theatre company with a goal to complete the Shakespearean canon by 2035.
By the end of 2014 we had performed Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night and Measure For Measure all exclusively at Half House Farm.
In 2015 we stepped into unknown territory and began looking into putting our productions on tour at indoor venues. Our biggest selling outdoor production to date, Love's Labour's Lost, was taken to The Stables Theatre in Hastings two weeks after its outdoor run to great success.
Following our final two exclusive outdoor productions (The Tempest and All's Well That Ends Well) , in the autumn of 2016 we produced our first solely indoor production which toured to The Stables Theatre in Hastings along with indoor venues in Rye, Tenterden, Bexhill & Battle.
